Every year, thousands of candidates are putting up for bank exams in order to gain entrance into the banking industry. What are the age limits for bank exams?

Points to Note
- SC/ ST/ OBC candidates are allowed on a maximum of 2 cumulative bases.
- If the ST applicant has a physical disability, then they will get a relaxation of a maximum of 15 years for the upper age limit and there will be no other exemptions allowed.
- No upper age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to General and Economically Weaker Section Category candidates.
- Candidates qualified for age relaxation will need to produce supporting documents as proof of eligibility.
- There is no age reservation for Ex-servicemen in the Officers’ Cadre.

Points to note
- SC/ST/OBC candidates are allowed relaxation in the upper age cumulative basis plus only one of the remaining categories (PwD, Ex-servicemen or Disabled Ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women, domicile of Jammu and Kashmir or 1984 riots victims).
- Candidates applying for the posts of Officers Scale I, II and III, and Office Assistants seeking age relaxation, must provide required documents as proof during the recruitment process.
- Caste certificates must be issued and signed according to the prescribed format given by Government of India by the candidates belonging to SC/ST, PWD category.
- OBC category candidates who don’t belong to the creamy layer should be mentioned and as such cannot avail the relaxation but rather apply under the General category.
- Ex-Servicemen candidates can’t be employed with the civil if he/she has once availed the relaxation benefits while seeking employment in civil services before applying for IBPS RRB 2022.
- Ex-servicemen can apply for re- employment one year before the completion of the term stipulated. They are eligible for all relaxations available to ex-servicemen but cannot leave the uniform until their tenure is completed.
