TIPS FOR TURNING IN OR TRANSFERRING DOMESTIC GAS CYLINDERS
TRANSFERRING DOMESTIC GAS CYLINDERS
You will need to change your domestic gas cylinders connection as you move homes. You will need to work with your neighborhood gas company on this. Following are some scenarios and the necessary preparations based on my experience if you want to give up or move your LPG connection.
Moving around the city: You can move inside the same city while taking your cylinders with you by yourself. You must find the closest domestic gas LPG cylinders agency owned by the same business (such as Indane gas agency dealers in Tuticorin.). Then, visit your original agency and submit a form asking for the transfer of your connection to the new agency. There is no cost or reimbursement involved.
In the odd event that your gas company does not provide service in your new area, you will have to give up and request a new connection with one of the agencies of other firms nearby.
RELOCATING TO NEW CITIES
You can choose to transfer your LPG connection if you’re relocating to another city. Also, you go to Indane gas agency dealers in Tuticorin, hand in the cylinders, and complete a form. You can apply for a new connection at your new location with the documentation the agency provides.
SURRENDER:
You would receive a reimbursement of roughly INR 1500 per LPG cylinder if you return it. You waste any gas, LPG stove, or cooker that the agency may have made you purchase.
Some organizations want a signature on a revenue stamp. Though not actually necessary, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few extra stamps on hand to prevent delays or pointless staff disputes.
Since your aadhar card and your domestic gas LPG cylinder connection are connected, it’s critical to surrender and update your aadhar card in government systems. Otherwise, you won’t be able to apply for a new connection elsewhere.
WHEN SHOULD YOU SURRENDER OR TRANSFER?
There is no purpose in transferring if you are moving back to your hometown where your family already knows you if you are getting moved and haven’t figured out where to rent a home, etc., or if you are going to be gone for an extended period of time. It makes more sense to give up and start over when necessary.
However, it is best to transfer if you will require an LPG connection in the destination place because it will save you time and money by not having to apply for a new connection.
Things to bring with you when you visit your LPG distributor include a copy of your Adhaar card, your original LPG connection receipt and booklet, one revenue stamp (not necessary, but better to have), and LPG cylinders and a regulator.
REMINDER
Remember to use your LPG cylinder completely because you won’t get paid for any gas that is still in it (or exchange it with a neighbor who has a nearly empty cylinder). Also, make sure the person in whose name the connection was given visits in person.
