Coloring sandcastle: drawings to print
Wow!! The car door closed. My brother Mason and I spend the weekend at the beach with our grandmother. It’s a great place to stay; we love it and cherish every moment. Our cousins Janet and Amber came over so we could play; we decided to make a sandcastle.
We made a big sandcastle on the beach, and I modeled it on the sandcastle coloring I made yesterday. I dug the moat, Mason picked up rocks to make the sandcastle stronger, Janet patted it down, and Amber decorated it with seaweed and seashells. I took off my pearl bracelet so as not to lose it in the sand. We worked all afternoon until Janet and Amber came home, and then Grandma called us for supper. We were very tired from working on the sandcastle, so we went to bed early.
In the middle of the night, the moon shone through the window and woke me up. I suddenly remembered my bracelet. When the tide goes up, it’s going to take my bracelet away. This is my favorite bracelet; I had to go find him. I slipped out of bed and quietly opened the trailer door. The bright moon lit up the beach as if it were daytime. As I walked down the steps, the waves were halfway up the beach. The tide was rising.

I found my bracelet on a rock. Our sandcastle was still standing; it made me proud of my accomplishments that day. It glinted in the moonlight, and it looked like lights shone from within the hollow turrets. I knelt down beside it and looked through the crack. I saw little people dancing. So, I stayed very quiet so they wouldn’t see me, watching them laugh and celebrate. I didn’t hear the wave coming silently on the beach, and it crashed on me.
I was sinking to the bottom of the sea. Strange enough, I heard voices. “Up and away,” something shouted. Two mermaids came out of nowhere. They each took one of my arms and swam towards the sandcastle. It was underwater. The moon shone through the water and onto the castle like a pinpoint light. I was as small as mermaids. We swam through the sandcastle windows. Some mermaids played music with shells. I joined in the dance with the mermaids as the moon crossed the sky.
It was almost morning, and I was tired. I closed my eyes and yawned. When I opened my eyes, I was lying on the beach. I looked for the sandcastle around me; all that was left was a pile of smooth sand. The castle had been washed away by the tide. I ran to the trailer and jumped into my bed. Now, on nights when the moon shines brightly, I go to bed and dream of mermaids dancing in their sandcastle.
