1. Civil Service Exam (CSE) –
This exam is given by the candidates who want to go in IAS, IPS, and IFS (foreign service), there is only one exam for all of them and on the basis of final merit list or your choice, you will be given the collector, Posts like Director, SDM are offered.
2. Combined Defence Service Exam (CDS)-
- It is also given by the candidates who want to become an officer in any one of the three parts of the Indian Army.
- The difference between NDA and CDS is that you give NDA after 12th and CDS after graduation.
- NDA can be given only by male candidates while CDS exam can be given by women also. There is also a difference in the training duration of these two.
3. Indian Forest Service (IFS)-
Through this you can get a high post in the forest department. You are given the responsibility of protecting the forest wealth and wildlife.
4. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) –
This post is also related to the security of the country. In this, recruitments are done in forces like CRPF, SSB, ITBP, BSF.
5. Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS)-
This exam is conducted for the recruitment of doctors in the health department.
6. Combined geo-scientist and geologist examination-
Through this Geological Survey of India, recruitment is done in the Central Ground Water Board.
7. Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam-
Through this exam, candidates are selected for the graduation course in the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Indian Railways.
Apart from these, exams like Naval Academy Exam, Indian economic service and statistical service exam, CISF – AC(exe) LDCE exam, Indian Audit and Accounts Service are also conducted through UPSC.
Who can give the UPSC exam?
- UPSC exam can be given by all such candidates who have completed their graduation or are in their final year.
- The age limit for UPSC CSE is 21-32 years, relaxation is given to reserved category as per rules.
- Some exams are also given after passing 12th such as the NDA exam.
